Anne qualified as a solicitor in 1985 and initially represented Spanish corporates litigating in London, followed by a decade at Wilde Sapte (now SNR Denton) carrying out a variety of cross border legal work principally involving Spain and Latin America from London & Madrid: commercial disputes, banking and reinsurance litigation, corporate debt recovery.
After moving to Warwickshire, Anne spent 10 years at Needham & James LLP (now Shakespeare Martineau) in Stratford upon Avon, becoming a Notary in 1999. A qualified translator Spanish/English & member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, she now concentrates on her notarial and translation practice. Anne was a Tutor and Examiner in Notarial Practice at the University of Cambridge from 2004 to 2011 and at UCL from 2013 to 2023. She also supervises newly qualified notaries. Her sporting interests focus on tennis & swimming now that her rugby playing days are definitely over.
Sanjay qualified as a Solicitor in 1998 and as a Notary Public in 2004 after practising at Allen & Overy and Eversheds in corporate and commercial laws. He is also admitted as an Advocate in India and specialises in Indian notarial documents. Sanjay was Tutor and Examiner in Notarial Practice at the University of Cambridge from 2007 to 2011 and at UCL from 2013 to 2023. Sanjay was a visiting lecturer at the LLM programme in International Trade Law organised by the University of Turin, Italy (2002 to 2014).
Sanjay is bilingual and as a qualified interpreter (former member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting), he helps his clients in notarial practice. He is the author of the books entitled “The Notary’s Manual” and “Notarial Practice (India)”. He is a former member of the Advisory & Qualifications Boards of the Faculty Office. Sanjay was appointed as a Notarial Inspector by the Faculty Office during July 2021. Sanjay is passionate about cricket and is an avid music lover. He does his best to stay away from all DIY home projects.
Simon qualified as a solicitor in 1984 and a notary public in 1991. After working as a property solicitor for many years in Barnsley, Market Weighton and Ilkley, Simon moved to an international law firm in Leeds in 2017, managing a team of commercial property paralegals.
Simon has deal with numerous overseas transactions. He was a tutor & examiner on the Notarial Practice Course run by the University of Cambridge from 2004 - 2011 and at UCL from 2013-2023.
Although Simon’s work is now primarily commercial conveyancing, his experience over the past 25 years has included residential and commercial conveyancing, deeds of covenant and easements; landlord and tenant work for residential and commercial landlords; wills, probate, powers of attorney and trust deeds; the formation, administration and dissolution of charities; the incorporation of companies and the preparation of partnership deeds.
